Sitting down in front of the computer for longer period of time every day is bad for the entire health. The sedentary way of life affects from 50 to 70 % of the Americans. This is the reason for many health problems like obesity, spine damage and heart problems because it slows down the blood flow. Too much sitting can even cause diabetes 2, cancer and high cholesterol.

One of the reasons for sitting too much, besides the desk jobs, is the internet.

Statistics show that in the USA the numbers of internet users increase by 10 million every year. In the USA 90 % of the households have internet and 80% of the USA population is using it every day.

According to the health experts 40 % of the patients suffer from back problems caused by bad posture and long hours in front of the computer.

This problem doesn’t affect only adults which are tied to their desks and computers every day for at least 8 hours. This is even bigger threat for children and adolescents which are still in the phase of development. Kids, even in the earliest ages, pass their time in front of the TV or PC playing games and watching cartoons which damages their proper development. So the number of kids with back problems, damaged spines, scoliosis and kyphosis increases every year.

According to the experts sitting down in front of the computer for 2 or more hours increases the risk of developing spine, joints and neck problems and you can develop chronic pain.

The first sign that you are passing too much time sitting down is the pain and problems in the back, neck and joints. If you feel a muscle pain stretch your body immediately, move around or just walk.

Another very important thing that you need to do immediately is to limit the time in front of the computer for your kids. For children under 12 the time in front of the PC must be not more than 2 hours or even less.
